    Turkish unemployment rate registers drop of 1.1 percent last year

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish statistical authority statement released on Wednesday, the country’s unemployment rate plunged by 1.1 percentage points to 12 percent last month.

    Based on the TurkStat, the figure of of unemployed individuals from the age of 15 years old and above, plummeted by 121,000 to 3.9 million last year in comparison to this year.

    The statement also mentioned, the unemployment rate stood at 10.7 percent for males and 14.7 percent for females.

    The statistical institute also stated that the number of employed individuals stood at 28.8 million with a 2.1 million rise and the employment rate was 45.2 percent, recording a 2.5 percentage point rise on an annual basis during last year.
