    Turkish main stock index starts Thursday on high note

    (MENAFN) The Turkish main stock index started Thursday’s trading session at 2,236.21 points, increasing by 6.06 points or 0.27 percent from the last ending.

    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index soared 1.07 percent to end at 2,230.15 points on Wednesday, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 33.89 billion Turkish liras (USD2.31 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira trading rate surged to 14.6593 on 09.43 a.m. regional time (0643GMT) from 14.6430 at Wednesday's ending.

    In addition, the euro/lira trading rate jumped to 16.3675 from 16.3410, whereas one British pound exchanged for 19.2569 Turkish liras, plummeting from 19.3320 at the previous ending.
