    Turkish main stock index closes Friday in positive territory

    (MENAFN) The Turkish major stock index soared by 0.82 percent to close Friday at 2,230.35 points. Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index opened the day at 2,238.73 points, it increased 18.38 points from the last ending of 2,233.30 points.

    The lowest worth of the index throughout the day stood at 2,230.35, whereas its highest value amounted at 2,255.14. The overall market value of the BIST 100 was about 1.84 trillion Turkish liras (USD126 billion) by market ending, with an everyday exchanging volume of 40.67 billion Turkish liras (USD2.77 billion).

    Throughout the final trading day of the week, 54 stocks on the index jumped, 41 plummeted and four remained at the same value in comparison to the last ending.

    The cost of an ounce of gold was USD1,928.3 and Brent crude oil stood at nearly USD105.2 for each barrel on 6.40 p.m. domestic time (1540GMT).
