    Turkish retail sales volume posts rise of 6.2 percent in Feb.

    (MENAFN) Based on the Turkish statistical authority statement on Tuesday, the country’s retail sales volume, a gauge of increasing consumer expenditure, climbed 6.2 percent two months ago in comparison to the corresponding month of the previous year.

    According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) data, non-food sales – without automotive gasoline – surged 12.6 percent on an annual basis two months ago.

    But, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, along with automotive fuel, plummeted by 0.6 percent and 0.7 percent, in that order.

    Amongst non-food products, textile, apparel, and footwear sales surged the most, rocketed 31.2 percent, pursued by medical equipment and cosmetics, which jumped 16.2 percent.
