    CBI designates USD4B for importing essential commodities

    (MENAFN) According to IRNA statement, Central Bank of Iran (CBI) assigns USD4 billion for the import of essential goods on Wednesday.

    The bank declared, of the stated number, on Tuesday, USD1 billion had been designated for the import of medicine, and the remaining USD3 billion was allotted on Wednesday.

    Based on an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) statement to ISNA, Iran’s imports of essential commodities reached 30.9 million tons during the previous Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20).

    Foroud Asgari, the deputy head of IRICA for customs affairs, stated that the imported commodities were in 25 goods groups.
