    Turkey’s budget balance records USD1.4B shortfall in first 4 months

    (MENAFN) On Monday, the Treasury and Finance Ministry declared that the Turkish central government’s budget balance recorded a shortfall of 19.36 billion Turkish liras (USD1.37 billion) yearly in the first for month of the year period.

    Turkey’s budget incomes increased by 75 percent annually to 766.64 billion liras (USD54.3 billion) throughout the same months.

    Its expenses grasped around 786 billion liras (USD55.66 billion) in the January-April period, growing 81.9 percent from 2021.

    Apart from interest payments, the budget balance witnessed an additional of 84.6 billion liras (USD5.99 billion) in January-April period.

    Tax incomes amounted to 591.44 billion liras (USD41.9 billion), whereas interest payments were 103.97 billion liras (USD7.36 billion) in the same period.

    One US dollar exchanged for 14.12 liras on average in the January-April period as well as 14.72 in last month.
