    Turkish stock market reaches all time high on Wednesday’s close

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index witnessed a record high ending on Wednesday, while it jumped to a peak throughout exchange hours.

    Borsa Istanbul ended at 2,568.76 points with a day-to-day increase of 0.85 percent opening the day at 2,554.28 points, the index increased 21.67 points from Tuesday's end of 2,547.09.

    The index's worst value throughout Wednesday stood at 2,554.28 points and its peak reached 2.585,78 – an all-time high.

    Its whole market value was over 2 trillion Turkish liras (USD127 billion) by market end, with a day-to-day exchange capacity of around 42.7 billion Turkish liras (USD2.6 billion).

    During the third exchange day of the week, 67 shares on the index increased, 30 dropped, and three stayed unaffected compared to Tuesday's end.

    Aksa Energy was the best performer of the day, with its stocks increasing 9.94 percent, whereas conglomerate Sabanci Holding witnessed the highest fall of 2.17 percent.

    As shown by data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets one ounce of gold exchanged for USD1,832.70 by market end, decreasing from USD1,850.50 at the previous end.

    Price of Brent crude oil was rising 1.56 percent to USD117.40 a barrel at 6.48 PM regional time (1548GMT).
