Islamic Development Bank holds meeting to discuss food supply, green investments

(MENAFN) Turkey’s treasury and finance minister stated that the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) association works to reduce difficulties in the food supply and increase green investments.

Nureddin Nebati mentioned that at the association’s yearly conference in Egypt that nearly 50 percent of the bank's associates are from low-salary nations and that the bank is moving stages to reach their needs.

On Friday, he stated that while the COVID-19 epidemic disturbed supply chain, food costs have also increased internationally for causes relevant to the current Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Nebati stated that the world economy, which was in a stoppage through the epidemic, is going to accelerate.

He stated that "While the world contracted in 2020, Türkiye positively differentiated and grew, by 1.8%. It also grew last year, and despite the war (Ukraine), it showed the same success in the first quarter of this year. It seems that this growth will continue."
