    KSA, DP world ink USD133M agreement to establish district's biggest logistics center at Jeddah port

    (MENAFN) Saudi Ports Authority, also identified as MAWANI, has inked a-SR500 million (USD133 million) agreement with DP World to establish a fresh fully-joined smart logistics park in Jeddah Islamic Port.

    Remarking on the agreement, the Minister of Transportation and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser stated to Arab News that “The kingdom is working very hard to implement its national transportation and logistics strategy which aspires to transform Saudi Arabia into a global logistics hub.”

    He also stated that “We are working very hard to implement many initiatives that will take us to this aspiration.”

    Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and chief executive of DP World stated to Arab News that “This will allow more opportunities for the Kingdom to be able to take advantage of many products that today might not be close to the port - it will be more effective, more efficient to have a distribution center closer to the port.”
