    Turkish regasification vessel ships +2.1B cubic meters of natural gas in 1 year

    (MENAFN) Ertugrul Gazi, Turkey’s initial floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) vessel, shipped nearly 2.1 billion cubic meters (more than 74.1 billion cubic feet) of natural gas to the nation's grid throughout 2021, in line with an official statement on Saturday.

    Noting investments made in previous years to increase Turkey’s natural gas supply security, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources stated that the Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Firm (BOTAS) had raised gas production volume, while investments in storage sector remained quickly.

    Pointing to the Turkish-flagged Ertugrul Gazi began its operations on the 25th of june 2021, the ministry stated that during the year, the vessel had functioned Turkey’s natural gas supply, with an amount of 24 LNG transfers taking place from ship to ship.

    The ministry also stated that "As a result, the Ertugrul Gazi has transferred 2.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the national system."
