    Qatar’s IPI surges 6.7pct in April yearly

    (MENAFN) Qatar’s Industrial Production Index (IPI) for April this year reached 102.6 points, displaying a rise of 3.8 percent against the month before (March 2022).

    According to a data issued by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), when put on year-on-year (Y-o-Y) basis, the IPI index has also surged by 6.7 percent against the same month last year.

    The index of the “Mining” sector presented a rise of 6.1 percent against the previous month (March 2022), as an outcome of the jump in the amount of “Crude oil petroleum and natural gas” with the same percentage. “Other mining and quarrying” climbed 4.2 percent as well.

    The index of the “Manufacturing” area presented a decline of 9.0 percent against the prior month (March 2022) as an outcome of the drop in “Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products” by 14.2 percent, “Manufacture of Cement and other non-metallic mineral products” by 8.0 percent, “Manufacture of food products” by 4.2 percent, as well as “Manufacture of refined petroleum products” by 2.9 percent.
