Iran’s non-oil shipment to Iraq falls 22pct in Q1 annually

(MENAFN) The representative of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) declared that the value of Iran’s non-oil export to Iraq dropped by 22 percent in the first three months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21), compared with the same period of the last year.

Ruhollah Latifi stated that Iran shipped commodities valued at USD1.824 billion to Iraq in the first quarter of this year.

Rising non-oil exports to the neighboring nations is one of the main strategies that the Iranian administration has been chasing in previous years.

The amount of Iran’s exports to Iraq increased 20 percent throughout the latest Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20), in comparison with the previous year.

As mentioned in reports, Iran shipped USD8.916 billion value of commodities to its neighbor in the stated year, placing Iraq as the Islamic Republic’s second-largest exchange partner.
Shipments to Iraq amounts to 18.3 percent of the nation’s whole non-oil exports in the prior year.
