Turkey to buy more oil, gas from Iran

(MENAFN) Turkey will buy more oil and gas from Iran amid bigger energy demands and good relations amid the two nations, as said by Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Talking in an interview with the state-owned newscaster, TRT Haber, on Monday, Erdogan stated: "Turkey will increase its purchases of oil and natural gas from Iran", saying that the trade volume between Ankara and Tehran could stand at USD30 billion.

Erdogan's statement was a week following his conference with his Iranian and Russian fellows, Ebrahim Raisi and Vladimir Putin, in Tehran, in which Turkey and Iran inked eight memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and contracts in numerous fields counting trade and investment.

Erdogan repeated the necessity of improving relations at a mutual meeting with Raisi in Tehran last week, after reaching the mentioned contracts.
