    USD3.7B agreements on energy, economy, technology signed in Saudi-Greek Investment Forum

    (MENAFN) Ministers from Saudi Arabia and Greece meet with leading private sector officials to talk over ways to improve financial and investment collaboration amid both nations at a special Meeting held on Wednesday.

    The conference comprised negotiations on communications, transport, logistics and energy, as well as reaching ceremony for some contracts and memoranda of understanding, reaching around SR14 billion (USD3.7 billion).

    Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih declared that the Saudi-Greek Investment Forum will lift two-sided financial relations amid both nations.

    “For everything that we do to advance our relations are about this — whether in the form of a fiber optic data cable, electricity, culture, shipping or people to people contacts. We are truly at a historical inflection point in our bilateral economic relations,” Al-Falih shared a tweet.

    In the investment meeting, Saudi Arabia inked a contract with Greece to extend a submarine cable to aid the Kingdom to become a “major player” in the digital economy, Saudi Minister of Communications Abdullah Al-Sawaha informed Al-Sharq.

    “We seek for Saudi Arabia to be a magnet for cloud computing and building a new economy based on artificial intelligence,” Al-Sawaha added.

    He went on: “Today, we started from the stage of building the local leadership, then the digital regional leadership, and we will be the global leadership in 2030.”
