    Turkish shipment surge 20 percent in January-June

    (MENAFN) As shown by the nation's statistical authority Friday Turkish shipments saw a rise of 20 percent on a year on year basis in the first 6 months of the year.

    In line with Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) statement the opening 6 months’ number reached an amount of USD125.9 billion.

    Turkey’s imports reached an amount of USD177.3 billion, a year on year jump of 40.6 percent in comparison with the same period last year.

    As imports increased at a higher pace than shipments, the nation's foreign exchange shortage extended 142.7 percent to reach USD51.4 billion throughout the same span of time.

    The export to import analysis percentage saw a drop of 71 percent in the opening 6 months of this year, compared to 83.2 percent in 2021.

    In June, Turkey’s foreign exchange shortage shot up 184.5 percent on a year on year basis to USD8.2 billion.

    The nation's shipments reached an amount of USD23.4 billion, increasing 18.7 percent, whereas imports reached USD31.6 billion, seeing a rise of 39.7 percent in June.
