    In bids to improve southeastern Iranian port, India celebrates “Chabahar Day”

    (MENAFN) Indian Ministry of Port, Shipping, and Waterways, on Sunday, rejoiced “Chabahar Day” in Mumbai to repeat promise to improving the southeastern Iranian port that well link India to Central Asian markets via the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

    The PMO portal mentioned in a report that the celebration was joined by senior officials from both parties including Deputy chief of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Jalil Eslami, India’s Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, as well as representatives of numerous Central Asian nations such as Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, in addition to Afghanistan, and the representatives of some of India’s main exchange institutions.

    Stating at the meeting, Sonowal mentioned that India’s idea is to make Shahid Beheshti Port at Chabahar a transportation hub in the area and connect it to INSTC to extend it connections to Central Asian nations.

    The minister declared that Iran’s Chabahar port would supply special opportunities for exports as well as logistics firms looking to become in action on the INSTC.
