    Iran transport minister, CIS members meet to establish technical-engineering consortiums

    (MENAFN) Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Rostam Qasemi held a meeting with Director of the Intergovernmental Council of the Roads Management of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Bouri Karimov in the capital on Tuesday to talk about the growth of transportation relations between CIS members.

    According to IRNA reports in the gathering, Karimov asked Iranian firms to join in transportation ventures of CIS member nations and Qasemi urged for launching consortiums involved of the CIS states’ technical-engineering firms to cooperate in such ventures.

    The trade of volumes and capabilities of the CIS associates in the area of transportation and transit were also underlined in the discussions.

    Karimov reached in Tehran on Monday, targeting to host discussions with senior Iranian officials to discover methods of growing relations among CIS nations and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

    After the arrival, he encountered the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mahdi Safari and studied transportation and transit relations among Iran and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
