Iran finalizes agreements to establish and run refineries in Syria, Iraq

(MENAFN) Iran has finalized deals with Syria and Iraq to establish factories in the stated nations and runs them as a stakeholder, according to a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Energy Committee.

One of the main resolutions for neutralizing the U.S. restrictions is to grow extra-territorial collaboration with other nations in oil industry like building and shareholding in refineries overseas, Qasem Saedi informed IRNA on Thursday.

As stated by Saedi, Iran has also signed deals with south American nations like Venezuela to restore their refineries.

pointing that one of the simple problems that concerns the West is the access of Iranian technology into nations that are in America's backyard, Saedi stated that “They know very well that one of the opportunities that Iran was able to create in order to neutralize the impacts of the sanctions was contributing to the development of the oil industries of other countries like Venezuela.”

He noted that “Iran has made significant advancement in terms of technical and engineering knowledge and technology as well as in training experts; In fact, today we are among the well-known pioneers in the energy sector and especially in constructing refineries.”

He further mentioned that the Islamic Republic has also showed willingness for supplying the same facilities to Lebanon.

Saedi also mentioned that “They will most likely welcome the proposal and we will definitely be collaborating with other countries in Central Asia in the near future.”
