Turkey’s share exchange closes Tuesday's session at all-time high
(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index surged to its highest figure ever of 2,913.30 points at Tuesday's end, increasing 1.62 percent on a day-to-day basis.
After opening the day at 2,876.03 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index added 56.12 points from Monday's finish of 2,857.18 points.
Throughout the day, the index's worst value stood at 2,773.06, whereas its day-to-day peak reached 2,913.30.
The overall market value of the BIST 100 stood at nearly 2.3 trillion Turkish liras (USD129 billion) by its end, with a day-to-day exchange volume of around 66 billion liras (USD3.7 billion).
One ounce of gold exchanged at USD1,765 by market end, as shown by the figures from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was about USD92.8 a barrel at 19.20 PM regional time (1620GMT), declining 2.4 percent on a day-to-day basis on fears of slower oil request because of a worldwide downturn.
