Private sector can boost Saudi-Uzbek financial relations

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s financial collaboration with Uzbekistan can be boosted through better participation from the private sector, since the Kingdom expands its political and business relations with the Central Asian nation, as stated by Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih.

In an exclusive meeting with Arab News on the sidelines of the fourth conference of the Saudi-Uzbeki Business Council in Jeddah, Al-Falih publicized that Uzbekistan Leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a meeting with presidents of the business community in the Kingdom, and stated his opinion of changing his country.

“He (the president) asked about the ambitions of the companies to use Uzbekistan as a growth market for them, and what are the challenges they might face. For two hours, he listened and he got the feedback which is very very positive,” Al-Falih added.

He also said: “As is the case anywhere, there are some challenges and regulations to access the market. He committed to removing those challenges and open opportunities.”
