Turkish stock exchange closes Wednesday on lower note

(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index was declined 1.96 percent to 3,060.30 points at Wednesday’s end.

The overall market value of the BIST 100 stood at nearly 2.4 trillion Turkish liras (USD133 billion), with a day-to-day exchange volume of 70.5 billion liras (USD4 billion).

Gold decreased to USD1,753 an ounce amid concerns around the US Federal Reserve's hawkish monetary tightening.

Forecasters are cautioning financiers that prices might drop to last month's lows of about USD1,700 as the dollar remains to witness notable upward momentum.

International main Brent crude sold at USD100.31 a barrel at 10.08 AM regional time (0708 GMT) for a 0.09 percent surge from the ending price of USD100.22 per barrel in the prior exchange session.

American main West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at USD93.95 a barrel at the same time for a 0.22 percent increase following the prior session finished at USD93.74 per barrel.
