    Iran’s shipment to ECO increases 40 percent in first 5 months

    (MENAFN) Iran shipped more than USD4.118 billion value of commodities to the associates of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in the opening five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22) to record a 40 percent surge on a yearly basis, according to the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

    In line with Ruhollah Latifi, the Islamic Republic shipped 7.315 million tons of goods to the stated nations in the mentioned months which also rose by 20 percent compared to the number for the prior year’s same period, as reported by ISNA.

    Based on the report, throughout the stated months Iran exchanged more than 9,107,402 tons of commodities valued at USD6,839,869,451 with ECO member nations counting in Turkey, Tajikistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Uzbekistan.

    He noted that main shipment destinations of the Iranian commodities in the stated union were Turkey with nearly USD2.328 billion of imports, Afghanistan with USD640.573 million, Pakistan with USD474.751 million, in addition to Azerbaijan with around USD269 million in the ongoing year’s first five months.
