    Iran signs MOU with Uzbekistan on energy collaboration

    (MENAFN) Iran and Uzbekistan inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on collaboration in several energy areas, according to Fars news agency report released on Sunday.

    In line with the report, the MOU was inked by Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Oji as well as Uzbekistan’s Acting Energy Minister Azim Ahmed Khojayev on the offshoot of the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference in Uzbekistan.

    In this gathering, the high-ranking representative of Iran and Uzbekistan talked about mutual functioning of petrochemical ventures in Iran, leading geological and exploration actions in the sector of oil and gas, provision of Iranian petrochemical outputs in Uzbekistan, trading of crude oil and petroleum outputs, and combined research for the improvement and promotion of catalysts and chemicals for petrochemical plants.

    Supplying economic support and backing banking collaboration for the improvement of oil, gas as well as petrochemical industries in the two nations, supplying equipment required by the oil and gas industry, collaboration in the sector of establishing and supplying laboratory equipment and interchange of knowledge in the sector of oil and gas industries, in addition to the training of skilled manpower in the oil industry were approved upon as well.
