    Iran shipment of goods to Iraq reaches USD3B in 5 months

    (MENAFN) Iran shipped goods worth USD2.961 billion to its neighbor Iraq throughout the opening five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), a board member of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce declared.

    Hamid Hosseini stated that the five-month shipment indicate an 8 percent decline as the number was USD3.22 billion in the same time span in the last year.

    He also mentioned that in terms of mass, the shipment witnessed a 28 percent fall as well, from 12.152 million tons to 8.655 million tons.

    The worth of Iran’s shipments to Iraq increased 20 percent throughout the prior Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20) in comparison to the previous year.

    According to reports, Iran shipped USD8.916 billion value of goods to its regional nations in the stated year, putting Iraq as the Islamic Republic’s second-highest exchange associate.

    Shipment to Iraq constituted in 18.3 percent of the nation’s overall non-oil export in the prior year.
