    Erdogan: Turkey could hit USD100B exchange volume with US 'in a short time'

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s exchange volume with the US is going to amount to USD100 billion "in a short time" if the present momentum is kept decisively, leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday.

    While giving his speech at an investment affair held by the Turkey-US Business Council in New York, leader Erdogan stated that the US and Turkey are "friendly" and "strategic" associates and the collaboration among the two countries has constituted to the peace in certain areas across the world.

    Erdogan stated that Turkey’s exchange capacity with the US surged by almost 30 percent in the opening eight months of 2022 in comparison with the same time span of the prior year and stood at USD22 billion.

    He also stated that "If this momentum is maintained with the right and decisive steps, our trade volume will reach the goal of USD100 billion in a short time."

    He mentioned that straight investments from the US in Turkey amounted to USD14.1 billion and Turkish firms' investments in the US amounted to the rate of USD8.6 billion.
