    Iran ships goods valued at around USD3B to Iraq in 5 months

    (MENAFN) Iran shipped goods worth USD2.961 billion to its bordering nation Iraq throughout the opening five months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), a board member of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce declared.

    Hamid Hosseini stated that the five-month shipment indicates eight percent fall as the number stood at USD3.22 billion in the same span of time in the last year.

    In terms of mass, the shipment witnessed a 28 percent decline as well, going from 12.152 million tons in the last year to 8.655 million tons this year, he also stated.

    The worth of Iran’s shipments to Iraq surged by 20 percent throughout the last Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20) in comparison with the prior year.

    According to reports, Iran shipped USD8.916 billion value of commodities to its bordering nations in the stated year, putting Iraq at the second place as the Islamic Republic’s largest exchange partner.

    Shipments to Iraq accounted for 18.3 percent of the nation’s overall non-oil exports in the prior year.
