    Turkish business body, D-8 nations sign MoU

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) as well as the Developing-8 inked a deal on Saturday.

    At the D-8 conference which was arranged as share of the MUSIAD Expo in Istanbul, a memorandum of understanding was inked by Isiaka Abdulkadir Imam, the head secretary of D-8, as well as Mahmut Asmali, the top official of the organization.

    The deal targets to improve exchange ties and rise collaboration among D-8 nations, which consist of Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria in addition to Pakistan.

    Imam noted that at the conference that D-8 members made important partnership in the previous 25 years in several sectors including agriculture, trade, transportation, energy on top of tourism.

    The exchange capacity among D-8 nations amounted to USD1.8 trillion, Imam recited and mentioned that it surged by seven times in the last 20 years.

    Asmali asserted that D-8 nations have a population of 1.2 billion and an economy valued at USD4 trillion.
