Saudi Arabia proposes 66 ideas to fight climate change at COP27

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia has declared 66 fresh ideas as part of its environmental program at the UN international climate change conference happening in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, officials stated.

The nation has established the ideas based on four major pillars: the circular carbon economy; raising vegetation cover as well as reducing degraded lands; securing wildlife habitats and biodiversity; in addition to supporting sustainability, Albaraa Aldhahri, venture head at the Saudi Green Initiative’s environmental track, informed Arab News.

The SGI, which was declared by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2021, started the second edition of the forum at COP27, with a massive pavilion devoted to the nation’s pioneering climate attempts.

Aldhahri stated that “Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (announced) the SGI to position Saudi Arabia at the vanguard of the fight against the climate change. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life in Saudi Arabia and also to protect the next generations.”
