Iran starts operating in 2nd train of SP phase 14 refinery
(MENAFN) The second train of the South Pars phase 14 refinery has started functioning, the performing managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which is in control of improving South Pars gas sector, declared.
Mohammad-Hossein Motejalli mentioned that recording this train of refinery into function, the refining volume of phase 14 amounted to 28 million cubic meters (mcm) a day.
The initial train of phase 14 refinery had started functioning in mid-March.
Phase 14 advancement is targeted at outputting 56.6 million cubic meters a day of rich gas, 75,000 barrels/day of gas condensate as well as 400 tons/day of sulfur, and 1 million tons/year of liquefied petroleum gas on top of one million tons/year of ethane to be supplied to petrochemical plants.
South Pars gas sector, which Iran control in cooperation with Qatar in the Persian Gulf water, is shared into 24 standard phases of improvement in the initial phase. Most of the phases are completely functioning at the moment.
