    Qatari chief executives anticipate mild, short recession over next 3 years

    (MENAFN) The KPMG 2022 CEO Outlook, which enquired Qataris chief executives at the world’s biggest businesses around their plans and viewpoint, shows that 16 percent of presidents anticipate a recession to be slight and small.

    Whereas chief executives could be strong, they’re also truthful around the issues approaching. Seventy- two percent of chief executives consider that a recession is going to upset expected expansion during the upcoming 3 years, and over three-quarters (80 percent) also see that a recession is going to make post epidemic regain.

    During the upcoming year, one out of 10 (12 percent) Qatari chief executives expect a recession to upset nation, with 52 percent expecting it is going to affect firm gains by around 10 percent.

    Ahmed Abu-Sharkh, Country Head Partner, KPMG in Qatar, stated that “Qatar’s CEOs have confronted many disruptions to their growth ambitions over a short period in recent times – COVID-19, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, cyber threats, the war on talent, and a looming recession.”

    He continued: “Nevertheless, resilience and optimism in long-term growth prospects prevail. CEOs ranked emerging/disruptive technology, operational and supply chain issues, and regulatory concerns as the top risks that could potentially delay their growth agenda. Overall, CEOs can leverage experience gained from managing their growth disruptions by strengthening foundations of resilience and forging new or enhancing current opportunities in technology, talent and ESG.”
