Report shows MENA growth in online food delivery this year

(MENAFN) The appetite for food distribution in the Middle East and North Africa area has carried on its expansion this year following the epidemic kick-started request for the facilities in the area, as shown by latest report.

In line with figures in ‘Digital Transformation in MENA 2022’, outputted by cloud-based payments platform Checkout website, more than half — 53 percent — of MENA customers bought food online in 2021, with 42 percent customers stating that they are purchasing food online in a more regular basis in 2022 than last year.

The online food ordering industry has several moving parts that require to come together in each deal, from the restaurants to delivery guys and aggregators to costumers. Close cooperation is therefore important for the several shareholders, as mentioned by Ramzi Alqrainy, head technology officer at The Chefz, a top Saudi-located food delivery app.

“Collaboration allows us to innovate effectively and to reach and serve society in its most inclusive sense. These days, one provider doesn’t need to manage all aspects of a consumer experience from A to Z. We all need to work together. This is the death of ownership,” according to Alqrainy.
