    GASTAT: KSA’s joblessness surges to 9.9 percent in July-September

    (MENAFN) The joblessness level of Saudi nationals in the July-September period of 2022 has surged to 9.9 percent, in comparison with 9.7 percent in the quarter before of 2022, as shown by data issued by the General Authority for Statistics.

    The GASTAT report mentioned that the joblessness rate of the overall population in Saudi Arabia stayed unaffected at 5.8 percent in the July-September.

    This data derives as the labor force contribution rate of Saudis rose by 0.7 percentage points to 52.5 percent, as well as the employment-to-population level of Saudis rose by 0.5 pp to 47.3 percent.

    The GASTAT data mentioned that the joblessness rate between Saudi Arabian females jumped to 20.5 percent in the stated quarter, higher by 1.2 pp from last quarter, and lower by 1.4 pp from 2021.

    As shown by the report, the surge in the joblessness rate in the July-September period was in line with a growth of Labor force contribution that outperformed employment expansion.
