    Iran’s transport index surges by 4.6 percent in railway field

    (MENAFN) The chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (known as RAI) stated that the transport index (TI), which studies the overall amount of person-kilometers as well as ton-kilometers, and is a kind of measure of the overall performance of the nation’s railways, has surged by 4.6 percent in the nation in the opening nine months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-Decemebr 21, 2022), in comparison with the same time span of the prior year.

    Making the comments in a gathering with the board of heads of the Union of Rail Transport Companies on Sunday, Miad Salehi stated that “Despite the country's economic difficulties, the railway sector has taken important steps forward in the first nine months of this year.”

    One of the very vital subjects that was talked about completely and very good successes have been reached, is the adjustment of the Article 12 implementation plan. Around this, the additional plan document has been inked by Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash as well as Oil Minister Javad Oji, as declared by the RAI chief.
