    Middle East experiences powerful surge in tourism sector, hoping to reach pre-COVID rate in 2023

    (MENAFN) The Middle East area saw the world’s most powerful surge in global arrivals last year in a clear indication the tourism industry is on its path to regain to pre-epidemic rates in 2023, as said by UN’s World Tourism Organization.

    The most recent figures from UNWTO indicates that global arrivals in the Middle East jumped to 83 percent of pre-COVID figures in 2022, then came Europe, where the figures of tourists reached 80 percent.

    The report, on the other hand, pointed out that Asia as well as the Pacific amounted to just 23 percent of the pre-COVID rate last year, as most of the nations in the area, such as China, just began facilitating epidemic-associated sanctions in latest months.

    In the meantime, the figure recommended that Africa and the Americas the two regained around 65 percent of their pre-epidemic visitors.
