Qatar’s exchange balance surplus rises to reach USD7.75B in December 2022

(MENAFN) Qatar’s exchange balance surplus has increased to reach an amount of 28.2 billion Qatari riyals (USD7.75 billion) in December last year, as shown by a report issued by the nation’s Planning and Statistics Authority.

The number indicates a 10 percent surge on a yearly basis as well as a 7.6 percent jump month on month, the report indicated.

The rise in the Gulf nation’s exchange balance surplus is majorly credited to the rise in shipments as well as the reduction of shipments, the report continued.

This falls as the data of Qatari shipments of domestic origin and re-exports reached an amount of nearly 38.3 billion Qatari riyals (USD10.5 million) in December 2022. The number indicates a rise of 7.6 percent on an annual basis as well as a rise of 3.1 percent month on month, as said in the report.

Along with this, the worth of merchandise imports throughout December 2022 also climbed 7.7 percent from the last month, to stand at a forecasted 10.1 billion Qatari riyals (USD2.7 billion), in line with the report.
