Iran’s power generation volume to surpass 7,000 MW by end of June
(MENAFN) Iranian Energy Ministry's representative for Electricity Industry Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi stated that the nation’s electricity generation volume is going to rise by 7,778 megawatts (MW) by the start of summer (June 22) with aim of meeting the hot season’s high request, as reported by IRNA.
While giving a speech to the press on Monday, Rajabi Mashhadi pointed out that the Energy Ministry has chosen 140 executive programs for guarantying the continued provision of electricity throughout the summer’s peak intake time span.
In line with the representative, the stated plans have been categorized into three major categories such as the improvements of power plant volume, the improvement of the electricity network, as well as the promotion of intake management plans.
Rajabi Mashhadi pointed out that according to the plans defined for the improvement of power plant volume, additional power plants with an overall volume of 6,000 MW is going to be established and the rest of the abovementioned number is going to be supplied via implementing overhaul plans and developing the efficiency of the current power plants.
