UAE, Italy Agree to Strengthen Their Bilateral Relations to Strategic Partnership Level

(MENAFN) UAE and Italy have decided to enhance their bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership. During a meeting between UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the countries agreed to work together towards expanding and deepening their cooperation in several areas. A joint statement released after the meeting stated that the strategic partnership will enable the countries to focus on their joint efforts to strengthen political, diplomatic, international, economic, and trade cooperation, as well as direct investment.

Moreover, the partnership will strengthen cooperation in emissions reduction, new energy technologies, and low-carbon solutions. It will also enhance the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries and accelerate low-carbon economic and industrial growth, while boosting energy security. The agreement signifies the importance of working towards sustainable development and adopting eco-friendly solutions to protect the environment.

This move comes as Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni makes her first official visit to the UAE since coming to power in October 2022. The decision to elevate the bilateral relations to strategic partnership reflects the shared commitment of the two countries to enhance their cooperation across various fields, which is expected to pave the way for more investment opportunities and joint projects in the future.
