Turkish Airlines Resumes Flights to Lusaka, Zambia After Suspension Due to Pandemic
(MENAFN) Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Lusaka, the capital and biggest city of Zambia, after suspending flights due to the coronavirus pandemic. The national flag carrier announced that Istanbul-Lusaka flights will now be operated twice per week with Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam connection, starting from March 26.
The resumption of flights to Lusaka is a positive development for both Turkey and Zambia, as it signifies the gradual recovery of the airline industry and the strengthening of commercial ties between the two countries. The flights will enable passengers to make round trips to Lusaka with fares starting from $841, including taxes and fees.
Turkish Airlines, which currently has 410 aircraft and flies to 342 destinations, is well-positioned to expand its operations in Africa and other parts of the world. The airline has been expanding its global reach in recent years, with a focus on offering more flights to new and existing destinations.
The resumption of flights to Lusaka is part of Turkish Airlines' strategy to increase its presence in Africa, which is seen as a key market for the airline. The airline has been investing heavily in the continent, with the aim of becoming the leading carrier in Africa.
The resumption of flights to Lusaka will also have a positive impact on the Zambian economy, as it will enable the country to attract more tourists and investors. Turkey and Zambia have strong commercial ties, with trade between the two countries reaching $168 million in 2020. The resumption of flights will further strengthen these ties and promote economic growth and development in both countries.
In conclusion, the resumption of Turkish Airlines' flights to Lusaka is a positive development for both Turkey and Zambia, as it signifies the gradual recovery of the airline industry and the strengthening of commercial ties between the two countries. The airline's expansion in Africa is also an important part of its growth strategy, with the aim of becoming the leading carrier on the continent. The resumption of flights to Lusaka will have a positive impact on the Zambian economy, promoting tourism and investment, and enhancing economic growth and development.
