Saudi Arabia Leads Digital Transformation with 97 Percent of Government Services Digitalized

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia has undergone a significant digital transformation in recent years, with the Kingdom digitalizing over 6,000 government services, representing 97 percent of total government services. This accomplishment has propelled the Kingdom to the forefront of digital governance, as evidenced by its ranking first regionally and third globally in the World Bank's GovTech Maturity Index 2022.

The Kingdom has also made considerable strides in international placements, securing the 31st rank in the UN e-Government Development Index in 2022. These achievements are a testament to the National Transformation Program's efforts to enhance digital governance and improve the delivery of public services.

One of the critical achievements from the NTP in 2022 was the launch of strategic directions for the digital government and the licensing of 15 digital platforms. These initiatives have been instrumental in advancing the Kingdom's communications infrastructure, with mobile internet speed reaching 181.24 megabits per second and fixed internet speed reaching 109.83 Mbps.

The NTP is responsible for almost 35 percent of Vision 2030 objectives, with 253 initiatives and over 50 contributing entities. As the Kingdom continues on its path towards digital transformation, it remains committed to enhancing its digital infrastructure and delivering world-class public services through innovative digital solutions.
