Red Sea Global Aims for 50-50 Split of Saudi, International Workers

(MENAFN) Red Sea Global (RSG) has made significant progress in its Saudization efforts, with almost half of its employees now being Saudi nationals. The tourist resort, which aims to have 50 resorts by 2030 with up to 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential buildings, has been focused on training local workers to ensure they can benefit from the project's growth. RSG will open three resorts this year, as well as welcoming domestic flights and travelers to its airport.

Tracy Lanza, the global head of brand development at RSG, spoke about the importance of training up local workers and creating a legacy that would benefit the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia. Lanza said that the company was close to achieving a 50-50 split between Saudi and international workers, and that the marketing team was already 67% Saudi. The company aims to continue its Saudization efforts, with programs to teach English for hospitality and vocational training in airport and hotel work.

RSG has been recognized internationally for its leadership in sustainable development, which was a key tenet of the project from the very beginning. The company worked with scientists to identify locations within the destination that could work for building hotels while protecting and enhancing the environment. RSG also seeks to preserve local culture and celebrates the rich culture of Saudi Arabia by integrating it with guest experiences.

Abdulla Al-Zahrani, the executive director of brand and marketing at RSG, noted that the company is taking measures to become the world's first destination of this scale to be run entirely on renewable energy from the start, with no connection to a national grid. The focus on sustainability is in line with the company's efforts to protect and enhance the environment and preserve local culture.

As RSG continues to grow and attract travelers to its resorts, the company's emphasis on Saudization and sustainable development is expected to have a significant impact on the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia. The company's efforts to train and employ local workers will create a legacy that benefits the industry for years to come, while its focus on sustainability will help to protect the environment and preserve local culture.
