Turkish President Erdogan Announces 45 Percent Wage Hike for Public Workers
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed a significant wage increase for 700,000 public workers in the country. Erdogan announced that the minimum monthly public worker wage will rise to 15,000 Turkish liras (USD768), a 45 percent increase. The collective bargaining agreement covers the welfare share and includes the wage raise for public workers. Speaking in the capital, Ankara, Erdogan emphasized the importance of this increase for public workers, stating that it will improve their quality of life and support their families.
The Turkish government has been working to improve the conditions and wages of public workers in the country, recognizing their important contributions to the economy and society. Erdogan announced that the government will continue to work on minimum wage raises for civil servants and hiking pensions, with preparations based on the inflation difference and welfare share expected in July. The Turkish government is committed to ensuring that public workers receive fair wages and benefits, reflecting their importance in the country's development and progress.
The wage hike for public workers in Turkey is a positive development for the country's labor force, particularly during a time of economic uncertainty and challenges. The increase in the minimum monthly wage for public workers to 15,000 Turkish liras represents a significant improvement in their standard of living and will provide support for their families. The government's commitment to improving the conditions and wages of public workers reflects its recognition of their important contributions to the country's development and progress. As preparations for further wage raises and pension hikes continue, the Turkish government is taking steps to ensure that public workers receive the support and recognition they deserve.
