(MENAFN) Iran shipped 56,298 tons of pistachio valued at USD405.04 million to 57 nations throughout the last Iranian calendar year 1401 (closed on March 20), as reported by IRIB.

According to reports, the yearly shipment shows that a 55.7 percent drop in value as well as a 58.4 percent fall in mass, on a yearly basis.

Russia with 7,329 tons of imports was the highest shipment destination for Iranian pistachio throughout the last year. India with 7,139 tons came next, shadowed by Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Germany, Turkey, in addition to Tajikistan, respectively.

Iran’s pistachio shipments have been on the decrease since the Iranian calendar year 1386 (closed on March 2008), when shipments amounted to 265,000 tons.

Even though Iran is widely recognized for its vast hydrocarbon resources, there are some additional precious outputs that people all around the globe put the Iranian brand on and value massively, one such output is Iranian “green gold” or pistachio.
