Semnan Province's Exports See 19 percent Increase, Iran's Non-Oil Exports Up by 10 percent

(MENAFN) According to a provincial official, the value of exports from Semnan province in Iran witnessed a significant rise of 19 percent during the previous Iranian calendar year of 1401, which ended on March 20. Morteza Hajian, the acting head of the province's Customs Department, revealed that the total export value reached USD120 million in that period. He identified Afghanistan, Russia, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the major export destinations for Semnan province. Among the primary items exported were wire and cable, detergent, plastic containers, sodium hydroxide, evaporative cooler, wool, and light hydrocarbon.

Additionally, Ruhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the Trade Development Committee of the Iranian House of Industry, Mining, and Trade, disclosed that Iran's non-oil exports recorded a growth of 10 percent in the past year. The total volume of non-oil commodities exported amounted to 122.056 million tons, valued at USD53.166 billion. Notably, China remained the largest purchaser with a total of USD14.584 billion in commodity imports from Iran, while Iraq witnessed a 15 percent growth with USD10.238 billion, and Turkey experienced a 23 percent growth with USD7.459 billion. The UAE also saw a significant increase of 28 percent with USD5.767 billion, and India recorded an 18 percent growth with USD2.146 billion as the first five destinations for Iranian goods in the year 1401.

These figures highlight the positive growth in Iran's export sector, indicating the country's efforts to diversify its trade partnerships and expand its non-oil exports. Semnan province, in particular, has shown a notable increase in export value, benefiting from its strategic location and diverse range of exported goods. The success in increasing exports to neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, Russia, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, and the UAE suggests the strengthening of trade ties and the demand for Iranian products in these markets.

Iran's focus on non-oil exports is an important step toward reducing its reliance on oil revenues and promoting economic resilience. With continuous efforts to enhance trade relations, explore new markets, and expand the range of exported goods, Iran aims to bolster its export sector and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
