    Sri Lanka, Oman to ink deal on double taxation avoidance

    (MENAFN) Oman was unveiled to be set for a deal to be penned with Sri Lanka aimed to steering clear of Double Taxation.

    The two countries are also expected to ink a memorandum of understanding on an exemption from visa requirement for people who own Diplomatic and official service passports.

    It comes after the Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera received an acceptance by the Cabinet of Ministers for a suggested to have Sri Lanka and Oman sign an agreement on evading double taxation.

    The proposal also aimed at putting a stop to of fiscal evasion covering the areas pertaining to interest, royalty and profit motivation on shipping services.

    The two countries were said to be expected to see a boost in their economic ties and cooperation through the signing of the agreement.
