Israel sees 4.8 percent boost in H1 trade deficit

(MENAFN) Israel was announced by the Bureau of Statistics to have recorded a 4.8 percent boost in its trade deficit during the first six months of this year.

The deficit raise was explained to have been driven by a 10.5 percent hike in imports of products and services during the first half of this year.

Israel's goods and services exports, not counting startups and diamonds, registered a 5.7 percent increase from January to June, a decline from the 9.2 percent posted during the same period last year.

Industrial exports in Israel, excluding diamonds, also witnessed a 5.6 percent jump during the same period, while tourism services exports increased 8.5 percent and other services exports 7.6 percent.
