DEWA grants USD89.2m deal for power cables supply
(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was announced to have granted USD89.2 million agreements for providing power cables across Dubai.
DEWA is aiming to supply 1,548 km of 11 kilovolt power cables all over various areas in the emirates in order to fulfill the requirements of electricity distribution network expansion.
Under the agreement, the cables supply is to sustain the persistent development of electricity demand from a range of consumer sectors.
The manufacture and supply of the cables are anticipated for conclusion, as DEWA unveiled, by September 2019.
"Through these huge projects being carried out, we aim to support and raise the capacity and efficiency of electricity transmission and distribution networks by providing an energy-efficient infrastructure and service facilities that provide electricity and water services in accordance with the highest standards of availability, reliability, and efficiency," stated CEO and Managing Director Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.
