Turkey-Iraq trade volume targeted at USD20b

(MENAFN) Turkey and Iraq were announced to have set a target for their trade volume to double by the end of this year.

The target was confirmed to have been set following a trip Iraqi President Barham Salih recently made to Turkey.

"Our goal in the trade volume between the two countries is 20 billion dollars as the first stage if some obstacles are removed," declared Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz.

According to the envoy, the two countries are facing a challenge in the double taxes on products from Turkey to Iraq through Kurdistan region.
