Iraq granted USD1.15b French rebuilding loans
(MENAFN) Iraq was offered USD1.15 billion in loans from France in support of its reconstruction and stability plans.
It comes as Iraq launched a rebuilding project with an aim to fix its infrastructure and economic attractions after being struck by IS terror attacks.
"France has decided to allocate a loan of one billion euros to Iraq to contribute to the reconstruction and stabilization efforts in the country," announced French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
"Many political and economic issues have been discussed (with Le Drian), including the entry of French companies into Iraq to participate in reconstruction efforts, as well as cooperation in cultural, educational fields," affirmed Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim.
