AIIB accepts Tunisia as official member
(MENAFN) Tunisia is now formally a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), announced the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation.
In a statement, the Tunisian ministry declared that "the AIIB approved the accession of Tunisia on April 22."
The overall number of the approved membership of the AIIB witnessed a hike to stand at 97, the ministry confirmed.
It added "this would allow Tunisia to receive funding for many development projects, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, transport, renewable energy and water resources."
Zied Ladhari, chief of the ministry, submitted an official appeal in February for Tunisia to become part of the financial institution.
