Libya at risk of 95 percent oil output loss

(MENAFN) Head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanalla warned that Libya, should violence remain in the country, is at risk of losing some 95 percent of its oil production.

Speaking to reporters, the NOC chief emphasized: "unfortunately, if this situation continues like this, 95 per cent of production will be lost."

According to the chief, "the war is bad and it's creating a vacuum inside the country, so the war should be stopped to get production running."

Output in Libya, Sanalla further added, is now at an average of 1.3 million barrels per day.

In April, as independent OPEC results showed, Libya witnessed its oil output register an average of 1.175 million barrels per day.
